goed roepen wij het niet eerst en vooral Engelse voetbal cuz wij hebben een VERSCHILLEND soort voetbal!!!!

No offense, but probably because most of us don’t really care about English football.
There are a few pro teams (like the one your Beckham joined), and some kid’s leagues…..but I couldn;t name a single city that has a team.
On the other hand, I can give EVERY city that has a pro American football team.
Maybe it also has something to do with it being international….our football is a competition within the USA, and there are no teams from outside the country.
I gather that there are teams from Italy, Brazil, Argentina, and who knows where in World Cup soccer.

because when it came over here we already had football so we just called it soccer instead
and to the guy before me the mls is getting pretty big in some areas just most people are to ignorant towards it to notice

For clarity ireland has football and canada the local game and dates as referent to distinguish them from part of these games called football generally called rugby with the only english football australia has not really justifiable historically been major sport and.

plus in american football they do use there feet, on punts,field goals and kickoffs

IF AMERICANS START CALLING SOCCER AS FOOTBALL, IT WILL JUST CONFUSE ANYONE WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE DIFFERENCE OF SOCCER AND AMERICAN FOOTBALL. BESIDES, IN THE AMERICAN VERNACULAR, AMERICAN FOOTBALL IS FOOTBALL.
