What English football team should I support ?
TotTaLY cONfUseD!!! asked:
I know it seems a slightly strange question, but, i come from an all-Manchester United family, and supported them for several years. I fell out with them for various reasons; the people in the town i live in, which is located in Cheshire, all support either Manchester United or Liverpool, and I want to be different. I’d prefer it to be a team in the North West of England, though i’d consider any. Hopefully you’ll give me some ideas and advice, even though i have several in mind.

If you don’t want to be just another ‘glory-hunter’ like half the country, how about Blackburn Rovers, the smallest town to support an EPL club. Or Wigan Athletic or Bolton? If you, like more and more people, not too interested in the Premiership (the fancy name for the old Division One), I’d give Blackpool or Preston North End a try, two clubs with excellent histories and sound, sane supporters unaffected by today’s ‘grab-the-money-and-run’ philosophy.

Everton, Man City would be nearest. But go with your heart, we would always welcome you as a Chelsea fan , northern or not !!

I’m not saying this should be your choice but i’m a Manchester City supporter and have a great laugh with the lads i go to matches with.
Sometimes it can be based on who you have a good rapport with. If the fans you normally meet supporting your team are neandethals you’ll **** going to watch the team. There are plenty of non-league teams around cheshire, one notable team in League One though is Stockport County. The ground is easy to get to (Edgeley Park) and the fans are okay.
If you do decide to choose City (after receiving a big bump on the head presumably, lol!) don’t mention your former alliegence! Most of the lads are alright and can be harmless but like any other team we have our fair share of idiots.
