What is the value of a 2nd or 3rd tier english football team?

and1wheretherealballersare asked:

i am interested in going into ownership of a football club, but are not a huge football fan. I am looking at investing around $US10 milion. I know that Premier league clubs are worth over a billion in some cases, does anyone have any info about the value of smaller franchises

    I find it quite funny you are asking this here, if you are interested you should phone the clubs.

    It would be around 5 to 20 million not more. May be even less as you go down the divisions.

    Leeds United were bought for 10 million by Ken Bates.

    @the guy above me:
    QPR are not worth 22 billion, their owner is worth that because he owns steel companies etc.

    Oh, and they’re CLUBS, not franchises!
