I just started watching football this year, and I’m wondering what happens during the summer?

Eddy v asked:

What happens during the summer when all of the major European leagues are taking a break? The premiership just ended and La Liga, the Serie A and the Bundesliga are all ending soon. Is there any football played during the summer or am I going to be bored all summer long?
I’m talking about soccer. That’s why its in the category of Football (Soccer). Why would I have put it there if I were talking about American Football?

I’m not sure about in Europe, but in the U.S. there is arena football. Arena football is pretty exciting. It is played on a smaller field with side walls. There is a lot of action.

P.S. I am assuming that you are referring to American style football and not soccer.

Oh, you mean THAT kind of football. We have a different kind over here. It’s the Raiders and the 49ers and the Cowboys. Totally different world.

And what happens during the summer? We have barbeques and go to the beach and shop at Walmart. Same ole stuff we always do.

I don’t know where you live but MLS season just started a month ago. There’s also an Under-20 world cup in Canada, North American Gold Cup, Copa America all scheduled for summer. The women’s world cup will also be held this summer in China, if you’re a fan of the women’s game.

Every four years around there will be world cup on summer =] Usually, in summer there will be a month of holiday in most cases. After that there will be preseason, the players travel around the world usually and practice in different countries promoting themselves and the club as a brand. You’d see a lot more of them doing silly stuff and press releases. They do a lot of preseason friendly games and stuff. If ur in Europe u should get it but since we’re both not lol just rely on youtube.
